How to rotate PDF in 3 steps

Drop a PDF on the left to get started — your first fix takes under a minute.

  1. 1Upload PDF — drag a file onto the drop zone or click to browse. Works with 100+ page documents.
  2. 2Select pages & rotate or delete — click thumbnails, shift+click for a range, press R to rotate, or delete pages into the trash strip.
  3. 3Save & Download — click Save PDF and the finished file downloads instantly. Nothing is ever uploaded.

What is Rotate PDF?

Rotate PDF fixes pages that landed sideways or upside down — a scanned document fed into the scanner the wrong way, a phone photo saved in the wrong orientation — and, since the same grid already shows every page, lets you delete the ones you don't want in the same pass.

Why rotate a PDF — scanned upside down

Flatbed and sheet-fed scanners rotate pages constantly, especially when a document mixes portrait and landscape pages or gets fed in reverse. Rather than re-scanning, rotating the finished PDF fixes it in seconds — per page, or the whole document at once if every page came out the same way.

How to use — visual selection

Click any thumbnail to select it, hold shift and click another to select everything between the two, or use Select all / Select none. With pages selected, rotate with the buttons or press R for a quick 90° clockwise turn — the rotation badge on each thumbnail always shows where it currently stands.

Rotate vs. Delete in one tool — the advantage

iLovePDF, Smallpdf, TinyWow and 10015.io each split rotation and page deletion into two separate tools — rotate here, upload again elsewhere to delete. Toolsda does both in one pass: rotate some pages, delete others, review everything in the trash strip, and save once. Deleted pages aren't gone until you click Save — restore any of them first if you change your mind.

Why Toolsda — on-device, not server upload

All four competitors upload your PDF to their servers before rotating it, offer only 90° with no undo, and give you no way to preview the rotated result before saving. Toolsda's Rotate PDF runs entirely in your browser: your document never leaves your device, every rotation (90°/180°/270°, either direction) is undoable per page or all at once, and the preview modal shows the actual rotated page before you commit.

Tips for scanned PDFs

If every page came out the same way, use "Rotate all pages" instead of selecting each one individually. For a document scanned duplex where every other page is upside down, select just the odd (or even) pages with shift+click and rotate 180° — much faster than clicking through one at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is rotating PDF safe?

Yes — Rotate PDF runs entirely on-device using your browser's own processing. Your file is never uploaded to any server, so there is nothing to intercept or store.

Can I rotate only specific pages?

Yes — click thumbnails to select individual pages, shift+click for a range, or press R to rotate the current selection 90° instantly. Unselected pages are untouched.

Can I delete pages in the same tool?

Yes — select pages and click Delete. They move to a trash strip below the grid, fully restorable until you click Save. No competitor offers rotate and delete together with undo.

What rotations are supported — 90, 180, 270?

All three, in either direction: 90° CW, 90° CCW (which is the same as 270° CW), and 180°. Apply them to selected pages or to the whole document at once.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, rotating and deleting work without an internet connection — the entire operation happens locally in your browser.

Will quality reduce?

No — rotation only changes each page's orientation metadata and deletion only removes page objects; nothing is re-encoded, so text, images and formatting stay pixel-identical.
